Giving shape to a world in chaos has long been a strength of Aria Noir, a design-for-designers label based in Toronto. The label’s spokesperson, Vivian Ramírez, calls its philosophy “market melody” — the idea of using song to convey a brand’s message. But when Aria Noir reached out to a Russian artist at the beginning of the year to record a song for the label, the label found itself in the midst of a decidedly inharmonious geopolitical crisis.
